Today is the day!!!
Today is the day! A cheque for £20,000 was presented to Dignity in Dementia, the Poole Hospital charity. We hoped to raise £10,000 and are thrilled to have doubled it. We couldn't have done it without so much support and generosity from you all. Thank you 20,000 times!
“ I would like to take this opportunity to once again say a massive thank you to the Costa Rica Cycle Trio for their amazing achievement and support in raising a fantastic £20,000 for Dignity in Dementia. Their cycling and fundraising efforts have been an inspiration and I know that they have received wonderful support from so many people who have contributed to making the trip such a success.
To all of you who have donated – Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Your donations will make a real difference to people with dementia who require care at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The money raised will be used to fund the design for a Dementia Friendly Lounge Room and outdoor area on Lytchett Ward and a proportion will be donated to one of our recently refurbished Trauma Wards for Artwork to aid memory and reminiscence. The remainder will enable a fund to be created for other areas within the Trust to apply for a small grant, specifically for dementia friendly environmental principles they wish to implement.
At the risk of being greedy and asking you for more…..I would like to urge you all to continue talking about dementia and sharing our project with friends and family – Dementia is everybody’s business and the more we discuss it the better equipped we will be to deliver quality care and raise the profile for this vulnerable group of people.
Once again – Thank you all!”
