I had expected HIIT to get easier as the weeks progress. We are used to the exercises but then Pete introduces something new, just to keep up the interest.
Speed skating, alternately swinging one arm to the opposite foot at the same time as doing a swift hop and stick motion - in the style of a speed skater, and a standing Russian twist swinging a 5kg sandbag from side to side - good for the waist. Whereas the 8kg kettle bell is good for the buttocks!
Each week I pray he has removed the dreadful tractor tyre, a 17" jump to the top of the tyre wall. Try it 17" really is high from a standing start! But, nope it's still there.
We're up to 25 seconds per exercise now, x 5 different exercises x 3 sets. Pete blowing his whistle ferociously and shouting encouraging remarks! It must be doing something worthwhile as I have rediscovered some muscle groups, many I was unaware I even possessed and obviously little used. For the last two days walking has been an interesting experience, and as for the stairs.....
